After an earlier stint in 2013 that saw the Adizero name briefly flash across the golf world (and, unfortunately, across some putting surfaces a bit too aggressively), adidas has rebooted this line with purpose in 2025. What we get now is a lightweight, waterproof, ultra-comfortable, and surprisingly stable spikeless shoe that just might be the best in its class.
The upper is crafted from Sprintskin, a multi-layer synthetic material that’s not only waterproof but also easy to clean. Visually, the silhouette borrows from the adidas ZG23 but with sleeker styling and a more refined finish. The Lightstrike and Lightstrike Pro foam cushioning duo—borrowed from adidas’ high-performance running shoes—delivers an airy, responsive ride, while the Insite 2.0 sockliner and moulded heel pad ensure a snug, dialed-in fit. The big talking point, though, is the SPIKEMORE outsole, a new multi-directional, undercut lug system that aims to mimic (and in some cases nearly rival) the traction of traditional spiked shoes.
If you’re looking for a spikeless shoe that can take on everything from dry to rainy to slushy conditions—without slipping, rubbing, or weighing you down—the Adizero ZG should be on your radar.
1. Instagram vs. Reality – The Unboxing MomentÂ
Out of the box, the Adizero ZG feels premium and purpose-built, though the design is more function-forward than flashy. They don’t photograph quite as bold as, say, the Tour360 or Codechaos, but the red colorway does pop nicely. The look says, "I'm here to win holes, not runway awards."
2. The Compliment Factor – Where did you get those?
Don’t expect head turns unless you go bold with your color pick. That said, golf buddies and playing partners who care about tech and performance will ask you about them after you stripe a drive while staying fully planted. Not a high-fashion shoe—but definitely an intriguing one for gearheads.

7. Break-In Pain Scale – Ready to Roll or a Few Rounds Needed?
There’s virtually no break-in period. Out of the box, they feel plush and secure. Heel slippage might occur if you don’t lace up to the top eyelets, but once dialed in, it’s smooth sailing.

Heavy on substance, light on flash. These shoes are performance-driven in every aspect, from grip to cushioning to support. They’re not going to win “most stylish” in a locker room contest, but they’ll win on the scorecard. It’s a tech-first vibe with just enough style to pass.

Absolutely. In fact, they’ve become my go-to shoe for any round where I’m walking. The comfort-to-performance ratio is off the charts.
