9 Fun Golfer Facts about SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER and his win at The 2025 BMW Chapionship

Scottie Scheffler - RELENTLESS!

AUG 17, 2025 - Scottie Scheffler once again proved why he’s the world’s No. 1 at the BMW Championship, turning a sluggish start into another highlight reel victory. Entering Sunday four shots back of Robert MacIntyre, Scheffler wasted no time erasing the gap with birdies on the 1st and 5th holes, paired with MacIntyre’s bogeys, flipping the script almost instantly. By the 7th hole, Scheffler was in command, setting a tone that MacIntyre never really recovered from.

Of course, it wasn’t all smooth sailing. Scheffler had a few frustrating misses on short birdie putts, which gave MacIntyre hope of hanging around. But the defining moment came on the 15th, when Scheffler scrambled from a nasty bunker lie, dropping a clutch par save while MacIntyre missed from a makeable seven feet. That momentum swing opened the door for Scheffler’s relentless finish.

Time for some Scheffler magic! On the 17th hole, Scheffler stood over an 82-foot chip from the rough, and in true superstar fashion, he buried it for birdie. The crowd erupted, MacIntyre could only shake his head, and the tournament was effectively over right there. Scheffler coasted home with a 3-under 67, finishing at 15-under, two clear of MacIntyre.

For MacIntyre, it was a brutal weekend fade. After piling up 18 birdies through his first 45 holes, he managed just two over his final 27, leaving him empty-handed after leading most of the way.

As for Scheffler, the win was historic. His fifth victory of the 2025 season makes him the first player since Tiger Woods to win five or more times in back-to-back years. That’s 18 career titles in just over three years! On top of the $3.6 million paycheck, Scheffler locked up the FedEx Cup lead heading into the Tour Championship, while Akshay Bhatia snuck into the final playoff spot at No. 30.
